OVERVIEW OF ROLE
Reporting to the CAD Deputy Discipline Manager, you will be producing 2D/3D models, procedural, design drawing as well other related drawings to support design and installation activities.
Designer should be flexible, eager to learn and support other activities such as subsea structures design, offshore renewables, pipeline design and others.
Specific Key Responsibilities & Activities
- Able to support Installation activities by preparing Lifting / Rigging drawings according to drawing office procedures and standards
- Able to prepare Sea fastening and Deck Layout drawings according to drawing office procedures and standards
- Able to prepare Installation Aid drawings according to drawing office procedures and standards
- Understand the various Installation / transport vessels used for the Installation campaign and its capabilities
- Interface with Engineering to obtain input for Installation drawings and to develop incident free layouts and arrangements
- Assist in the identification of technical problems and contribute with possible solutions
- Conduct selfcheck on drawings/sketches and undertake checking of others work in a project or department environment within own experience and competence level
- Ensure all drawings and sketches are produced with high safety consciousness being in line with Subsea 7 safety standards and expectations.
- Prepare drawings and sketches consistent with good engineering practice and in compliance with company drawing office procedures
- Assist Installation as required in the resolution of construction difficulties relating to design problems, clashes, etc
- Provide feedback and input to improve departmental standards, working methods and guidelines
- Actively participate in training and development opportunities to ensure continuing professional development
Essential Experience, Skills and Knowledge
- Technical education preferably related to civil, structural or mechanical engineering
- Proficient in the use of Autodesk AutoCAD 2D/3D (Mechanical/Civil)
- Experience in design/drafting of all Installation activities
- Experience in other nontechnical software e.g. MS Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Ability to function within multiple disciplines design team across multiple projects
- Ability to prioritize, organize and deliver work to deadlines set by the management and project
- Good communication skills in English, both verbally and written
- Commitment to Continuing Professional Development
- Technical knowledge and interest in Installation activities
- Presents self in a professional manner appropriate to the role
- Ability to work closely as a team
Desirable Experience, Skills and Knowledge
- Trained in the use of Autodesk Inventor 3D
- Trained in the use of SolidWorks 3D
- Trained in the use of Autodesk Civil 3D
- Experience working on offshore operations method drawings
- Experience working in a Subsea engineering environment and/or offshore operations
- Experience in Offshore Wind installation/structures
- Knowledge of Autodesk Vault Professional for data (drawings/models) management
