    Senior Investment Strategist Job Description

    Job Summary:

    We are seeking a seasoned Senior Investment Strategist to lead the development and execution of business strategies for our Private Wealth clients.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Business Strategy Implementation: Develop and drive investment business strategies to achieve pre-set targets for investment fee-based income, asset under management (AUM), cross-sell ratio, and increase number of new investment clients.
    • Investment Advisory Support: Jointly conduct sales calls with Client Associates (CAs) and provide investment advisory support, including asset allocation and portfolio rebalancing, based on clients' needs and risk profiles.
    • Product Expertise: Serve as the point of reference for CAs on investment products, fund performance, campaigns, and enforce sales process and governance.
    • Research and Analysis: Conduct research, analysis, and write-ups on funds, equities, and market updates to support informed decision-making.
    • Performance Improvement: Identify gaps and develop action plans to address them, ensuring corrective measures are implemented to achieve investment targets.
    • Talent Development: Collaborate with the Head, Private Wealth to assess CAs' competencies and skills, implement training programs, and coach new and existing CAs.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Business Studies, Administration, Management, Economics, Finance, Accountancy, Banking, or equivalent.
    • CFA or ACCA qualification, along with CMSA Module 12 and 19a license, is an added advantage.
    • A minimum of 5 years' experience in banking, with expertise in investment research, analysis, advisory, or related investment experience, such as Finance & Economics, Fixed Income, Equities, Investment Structured Products, Forex, and Unit Trust.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with people at all levels.
    • Fluency in English, Bahasa Melayu; Mandarin proficiency is an added advantage.

    Work Environment:

    This role will be based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, within Maybank's Investment division.
