Job Description (Roles and Responsibilities)


Main purpose of job:


The successful applicant will have an interest in security and justice issues and be able to use their administrative skills to deliver in a fast paced environment.

They will support members of the CTEN who have regional responsibilities and travel regularly throughout Central, South and South Eastern Asia and elsewhere.


Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve?:

  • Provide administrative and clerical support to the Hub Head and wider team in order to ensure effective and efficient operations, including: facilitating travel and meeting requirements; organising visits and events; and acting as key point of contact for administrative requirements.
  • Administer the CTEN Hub's

Operational Budget:

working with Hub colleagues and regional CT officers to ensure expenditure is being recorded and monitored, provide accurate forecasts, process expense claims for the Hub and review purchasing requests to ensure audit procedures are followed.


  • Provide administrative support to the Hub's functional work around the region, eg creating and maintaining a contacts database; risk register, maintaining records of UK and allies CT programmes in the region.
  • Provide ad hoc project support to CT Programme Officers in administrative aspects of project management, including project planning, financial forecasting, monitoring and evaluation, periodic reporting etc.
  • As time, interests and skills permit, assisting the Hub and regional CT officers with appropriate policy work.
Essential qualifications, skills and experience

  • Excellent IT skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Experience of budget management including monitoring spend and processing invoices
  • Ability to produce clear and accurate work with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative to solve problems
  • Can support colleagues when under pressure and able to contribute to crossteam working
  • A flexible and proactive approach
