    Production Operations Manager

    Job Description:

    This role involves managing production activities to ensure safe, efficient and effective delivery of production objectives. The Production Operations Manager will be responsible for monitoring and optimizing daily production activities, supervising shift and operations teams, and working closely with maintenance teams to plan and schedule required maintenance activities.

    The successful candidate will have a strong background in process engineering or a related field, with experience in managing and leading production teams. They will possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to multitask and proactively undertake a broad range of production-related activities and optimization projects.

    Key areas of responsibility include:

    • Monitoring and optimizing daily production activities
    • Supervising shift and operations teams
    • Working closely with maintenance teams to plan and schedule required maintenance activities
    • Ensuring compliance with safety requirements and regulatory standards
    • Managing cost expenditure to ensure production delivers within budgeted operating expenditure

    Additional responsibilities include coordinating risk management activities, supervising employees, contractors and visitors, and ensuring operational availability of equipment and facilities. A clean, safe and conducive work environment is also crucial to the success of this role.

    Required Skills and Qualifications:

    The ideal candidate will possess:

    • A degree in process engineering or a related field
    • Demonstrable experience (+5 years) in safely managing, leading and motivating production teams
    • Strong knowledge of safety requirements and regulatory standards
    • Ability to multitask and proactively undertake a broad range of production-related activities and optimization projects
    • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
    • Coaching and mentoring skills
