  • The Purchasing Director is responsible for formulating and overseeing objectives, policies, and procedures related to all purchasing functions. They design and implement ERP tools to efficiently manage the procurement process, and they take the lead in negotiations with key suppliers, particularly on commercial aspects. Additionally, they manage the supplier onboarding process.
  • Key responsibilities include:
  • Ensuring that all purchase requests have obtained the necessary approvals in accordance with the authorized approval levels.
  • Overseeing the process for contingent workers and related reporting.
  • Playing a direct role or overseeing team management in supporting commercial contracting with suppliers.
  • Demonstrating excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Coordinating requests for onboarding new suppliers.
  • Developing and executing plans to reduce ongoing costs.
  • Identifying global key suppliers to fulfill the sourcing needs of the business.
  • Reviewing all proposed and received orders to ensure vendor compliance and recommending vendor changes when necessary.
  • Providing supervision and guidance to staff within the procurement process.
  • Assisting in budget planning.
  • Managing staff across global locations.
  • Taking the lead on driving projects to completion.
  • The Purchasing Director's role is crucial in streamlining procurement processes, ensuring vendor compliance, and achieving costsaving objectives.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of eight years of experience in purchasing, including a minimum of two years in a purchasing management role.
  • Experience in global sourcing and procurement.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated adaptability and flexibility, the ability to respond to new information and adapt to different or unexpected circumstances.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
