POSITION OVERVIEW:


Internships focus on entry-level general work experience university students who are still figuring out their career options and collecting practical experience mostly during the semester breaktime.

It is a professional learning experience that offers meaningful, practical, project-based work related to a student's field of study or career interest.

Internships offer students the opportunity for career exploration, professional development, and skills building.

It offers the Alcon Global Services Centre in Petaling Jaya to bring new, fresh ideas and energy into the workplace, to develop talents, and to build a pipeline for potential full-time employees.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Service Delivery:_
  • Supports transitions and knowledge transfer
  • Provides services at expected levels with a clear customer service focus and escalates exceptions
  • Interacts proactively with all functional areas of the AGS FRA to ensure appropriate accounting and financial reporting
  • Coordinate with local teams, entity, and incountry FSC to provide seamless service
  • Proactively challenge the Status Quo, making factbased recommendations
  • Corresponds to internal and external inquiries
  • Manage daytoday activities (modules to be assigned):
  • Ensure proper document management (incl. Document reception, sorting of accounting documents, scanning and validation)
  • Perform Indexing, Processing of PO and nonPO invoices, Credit Notes and Down Payments processing
  • HCP Eapprovals, error checking, documents upload and reporting
  • Timely resolution of Invoices which have a price and quantity deviations and followups including debit balances
  • Ensuring controls are in place and supports Payment Proposal reviews
  • Support the measurement and delivery of service levels and SLA/KPI targets
  • Oversight of Goods Receipt / Invoice Receipt and timely clearing
  • Providing input for AP Accruals, account reconciliations and monthendclosing
  • Ensure alignment with AP policy, SOP, regulatory requirements
  • Compliance:_
  • Ensure all processes, policies and procedures are clearly defined, fully documented, in line with Alcon standards and consistent with best practices as well as aligned with the Global Blueprint (when applicable) and Finance Core
  • Ensure compliance with Alcon Accounting Manual (AAM), Alcon Financial Controls Manual (AFCM), and regulatory requirements
  • People Skills:_
  • Actively support AGS FRA working style by being inclusive, proactive, respectful, and results driven in alignment with Alcon Values and Behaviors
  • Act service oriented to enable service lines to deliver a highperforming organization and contribute to derive to improvements/standard solutions while cultivating customer service focus culture

  • Gain handson experience with financial systems (e.g., SAP, Blackline, FNOW, Appzen)

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Ensure completion of assigned financial reporting tasks within established deadlines
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation of AP processes and procedures
  • Ensure alignment with AP policy, SOP, regulatory requirements

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

Education:


  • Talented and ambitious students or recent graduates with a Diploma in Accounting or those who are finalists in certification programs for accountancy (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA, etc.)

Languages:

  • Mandarin & English
