Responsibilities:

The Failure Analysis Technician will carry out the following technical functions in support of product reliability qualification/monitoring, RMAs, and internal/external customer issues:

  • Provide engineering assistance to Failure Analysis Engineers in performing electrical fault isolation and defect characterization on all internal/external device/board level FA requests.
  • Provide support to FA Engineers in improving and developing new FA equipment and techniques in both fault isolation and defect characterization.
  • Electrical testing and datalogging of integrated circuit devices using automated test equipment
  • Loading and unloading of IC components onto burnin boards
  • Loading and unloading burnin boards into test chambers (must be able to lift 40 lbs.)
  • Bench testing and debugging of reliability test circuits
  • Perform Scanning Acoustic Microscopy (C-SAM) testing
  • Operation of measurement equipment such as curve tracer, oscilloscope and Keithley test rack
  • Use of X-Ray system and optical microscope is support of failure analysis
  • Other engineering support responsibilities may be assigned on an asneeded basis

Requirements:


  • A Diploma or Associate Degree in Electronics or equivalent certification
  • Minimum of 35 years of handson experience in semiconductor failure analysis related areas. Basic understanding of semiconductor device, its operation, process and assembly flow. Must know how to use ATE tester and bench test equipment to perform electrical test of semiconductor and board level test device such as curve tracer, power supply, oscilloscope, waveform generator and microprobing. Indepth knowledge of handson experiences with inspection equipment such as optical microscope, SEM, FIB, CSAM, XRAY, wet chemical etch technique in decapsulation and wet chemical etch of IC's, crosssectioning and parallelpolishing tools.
  • Language proficiency (verbal and written) in English and Bahasa Malaysia
