    Job Overview

    The role of HSSE Safety Officer involves overseeing logistics activities in offshore marine environments with a strong emphasis on safety. The incumbent will serve as the primary advocate for safety and ensure that all operations are conducted with the utmost regard for well-being.

    Main Responsibilities

    • Serve as the principal on-site representative for safety, working closely with vessel crews, contractors, and internal departments to coordinate logistics plans and marine HSE improvement initiatives.
    • Monitor and report on the progress of logistics operations, identifying potential safety hazards and deviations from procedures.
    • Ensure strict compliance with relevant safety regulations, company policies, and environmental protection standards.
    • Maintain accurate records of logistics activities, including safety checklists, incident reports, manifests, and equipment inventories.
    • Conduct regular site safety inspections to proactively identify hazards and verify adherence to operational and safety regulations.
    • Participate in the development and implementation of enhanced logistics procedures and safety best practices.
    • Troubleshoot logistical challenges while prioritizing safety in the implementation of solutions.
    • Prepare comprehensive reports on logistics activities and safety performance, highlighting observations and improvement initiatives.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Maritime Studies, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in offshore marine logistics, supply chain management, or a similar role within the oil and gas or maritime industry.
    • Comprehensive understanding of offshore vessel operations, cargo handling, and marine transportation, along with awareness of associated safety risks and mitigation strategies.
    • Demonstrable knowledge of relevant HSE regulations and adherence to best practices in offshore environments.
    • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills to clearly communicate safety protocols and expectations.
    • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
    • Robust problem-solving and decision-making abilities with a commitment to prioritizing safety.
    • Proficiency in relevant software and IT systems for logistics management and reporting.
    • Valid offshore certifications (e.g., BOSIET/FOET) and other relevant safety certifications.
    • Willingness to travel to and work at offshore locations and project sites.
