Legal (LE) covers all legal business matters pertaining to the organisation and acts as advisor on legal issues involving the organisation's government and regulatory compliance.
Demonstrates experience in general corporate matters, including corporate organisation, securities compliance, drafting transactional documents, license agreements, data privacy, risk management, and contract management.
Subfamily Description
Corporate, Business & General Law (CBG) comprises the coordinating and managing of all corporate, business, financial, and general legal matters.
The position will be responsible to handle all legal and contractual matters for CNS in the APAC region of South-East Asia (North) and will also be closely aligned and be required to interface regularly with the relevant business heads, procurement & sales team and all other support functions.
- Drive and lead legal support to the business in deals including drafting, contract structuring and negotiating
- Managing and resolving complex contracts and RFP/Tender issues with the customers/vendors.
- Provide general legal advice and support to other functions e.g. human resources, finance, IT, admin, corporate services, real estate management etc.
- Assist in evaluations and conducting thorough due diligence for all deals and transactions and effectively develop and implement appropriate riskmitigation strategies in relation to Nokia's business operations.
- Provide appropriate advice and training to the business/procurement/relevant teams on related contracting matters in line with Nokia's policies.
- Manage customer contracts and provide support to effectively monitor and enforce the contracts from a legal perspective.
- Evaluate the impact of evolving legal and statutory regulations pertaining to the relevant business function and highlight the same in time and contribute to the business planning process.
- Qualified lawyer in one of the following jurisdictions: Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines or India
- Minimum 7 years PQE
- Excellent academic record and working references / credentials
- Exceptional communication skills and fluency in English.
- Able to travel as needed
- Experience in general ethics and compliance matters, familiarity with Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and European anticorruption laws (or commitment to develop skills/knowledge in this area)
- Experience in IT, technology, Cloud services, data center or telecommunications industry
- Inhouse counsel experience in a global multinational company (preferred, not mandatory)
- Extensive experience in drafting commercial contracts and managing negotiations with customers
- Excellent legal skills and knowledge of contract and commercial law
- Proven track record in stakeholder management, with ability to interact and integrate effectively and professionally with all levels of the organization
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills
- Highly independent and selfmotivated. Influences others to support decisions. Develops and applies innovative approaches to complex or infrequently occurring problems.
- Formulates operational guidelines to support the business teams
