Job Purpose:


The Chief Operating Officer assists the CEO to lead the College to achieve its vision, fulfil its mission and develop its educational agenda.

He/She is accountable for the formulation, development and implementation of the strategies necessary to successfully position the College in the industry, including making it profitable for the financial year.

This position also provides leadership for the development of innovative and strategic new academic programmes.

The COO will work collaboratively with appropriate constituents to promote the development and expeditious implementation of new programmes designed to fit institutional priorities and capabilities, meet market need and create sustainable new sources of revenue.


  • Provide leadership, guidance and support to employees while ensuring the delivery of successful organizational and academic performance of the College.
  • Work closely with the CEO in formulating a strategic vision and deliver an outstanding and responsive academic and business strategy.

Assist the CEO in:

  • Ensuring that all activities of the College are conducted to the highest possible standards of integrity and transparency, and are aligned with its strategic goals.
  • Ensuring that the College fulfils all statutory and regulatory obligations, ethical, financial, legal obligations and other requirements of Government bodies and other agencies.
  • Ensuring the effective daily operations and management of the College, including a progressive curriculum which is accessible to students of all abilities and that it exhibits high quality teaching and learning.
  • Ensuring that the educational provisions of the College are regularly reviewed and that they meet the requirements of the relevant internal and external stakeholders; and comply with the regulations set by the Government and its authorised agencies.
  • Conducting research to identify and evaluate likely success of potential new programmes that fit institutional mission, are of interest to and within the capacity of faculty, and meet market demand.
  • The development of programme proposals, including budget planning to ensure financial sustainability, implementation timelines, and marketing/recruitment plans.
  • Developing approaches to foster collaboration across colleges and the development of crosscollege academic offerings.
  • Leading new programme development and operations team to ensure crossfunctional support for the development and implementation of new programmes, including assessment of quality and sustainability.
  • Establishing requirements for faculty to develop and demonstrate proficiency to teach in online formats; coordinate delivery, assessment, and refinement of faculty training using quality benchmarks.
  • Any other duties to be assigned by the CEO

JOB REQUIREMENTS:


  • A recognized Master Degree or above.
  • Senior administrative experience working in a college setting.
  • Possesses inspirational, dynamic and forwardthinking leadership skills.
  • Communicates clearly and regularly in written and oral form.
  • Demonstrates ability to organize, delegate and fulfil the responsibilities of the position.
  • Works well under pressure.
  • Accepts input and gives direction as is appropriate.
  • Understands the basic fundamentals of the position's duties and continues to expand creative problemsolving skills.
