Description

This position is for a Materials Program Manager MPM in NESG NPO to support New Product Introductions within the Product Iife Cycle PLC milestones.

The MPM supports all facets of the product life cycle, which includes all prototype activity, silicon validation builds, new product introduction, sustaining, and end-of-life for boards/systems.

As well as RDV Reference design Vehicles.

In this position, you will work with other Product Development Team PDT members and will be the key materials interface between the Business Unit, Commodity Management, Strategic Materials, Engineering and High Volume manufacturing sites.


Translates manufacturing, market dynamics, and business requirements into actionable strategies and tactics as they relate to bills of materials risk assessment/mitigation, inventory health/optimization, streamlined/reliable supply chain and the total cost to business.

Coordinates and monitors the acquisition of materials in support of New Product Introduction (NPI) programs/projects and ramp readiness for seamless transition to High Volume Manufacturing (HVM).

Works closely with suppliers to execute contractual requirements and discuss performance, cost opportunities, and future operational strategies.

Works closely in collaboration with cross functional staff across project/program management, engineering, supply chain, including commodity professionals/purchasing and manufacturing teams, to define customer demand and early raw materials requirements, influence supplier and component selections, and drive planning and procurement activities at both product and cross product platform levels.

Ensures that bills of materials integrity, materials availability, cost, and quality goals are set and successfully achieved. Provides assessments/status to stakeholders at multiple levels, establishes contingency and gap closure plans, and closely monitors program indicators. Analyzes data to develop and design solutions for complex processes. Participates in the development and improvement of systems and tools to drive efficiencies across the organization. Works with cross organizational teams to drive forward looking supply chain solutions.

Manages suppliers to achieve on time delivery and cycle time performance, resolution of material escalations, Bills of Materials (BOM) cost benchmarking/optimization, Engineering Change Order (ECO) change closure, new site startup, and liability settlements.

Ensures tight linkages to each business unit's production requirements to enable output maximization while balancing cost and inventory control.


Responsibilities will include but not be Limited to: Driving a material plan, defining source plans, risk mitigations for unique and sole source components, maintaining commonality of parts usage, driving product cost at or below target costs, ensuring supply Iine availability for New Product Introduction, production pilot or ramp, and Engineering Change Orders ECO's.

Working with Product Development Teams and Commodity Management to reduce product material risks, and ensure successful New Product Iaunches. Develop and execute strategic Material Plans supply, risks, Iead-time analysis, cost and others. Working directly with Board Design Engineers to optimize commonality of part usage.

Working with finance, manufacturing sites and commodity management on inventory management, and ensure material availability to deliver to customer commitments.

Own and implement new component qualifications. Identify and implement across all sites, material cost reduction opportunities.


Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree and/or equivalent Previous Materials Program Manager experience.

Materials procurement and supply chain management experience in new product development and Sustaining, A good knowledge and experience in indirect and direct material inventory strategies is recommended.

Ability to take the initiative to start and complete tasks independently and meet commitments. Ability to work in a team environment, a team player. Ability to track issues and drive them to resolution at all Ievels of the organization. Strong Excel tools capability and analytical skills. Strong ownership and organizational skills Excellent communication, problem solving and time management skills.
