Job Summary
Responsibilities
Assisting the EHS Manager in:
1. Group Level
- Setting long and short term EHS goals for FFM Group, formulating action plans to achieve the goals and establishing metrics to monitor against targets.
- Continuously review and ensure group wide EHS compliance, working with EHS officers and various competent persons of all entities to:
ii) ensure monitoring of EHS performance and timely update of EHS performance results, incidents & accidents investigation, and reporting by all site into the Enablon system.
iii) formulate environmental monitoring on wastewater treatment, industrial effluent/discharge parameter, air pollution, noise pollution and schedule waste operation.
iv) develop program to reduce the risk of environmental hazard.
v) obtain ISO14001 EMS & ISO 45001 OHSMS certifications.
- Continuously manage, review, and improve existing EMS & OHS Management system, implements, oversees, revise, adapt or adopt policies, procedures in compliance with Wilmar Group EHS standards, local EHS authorities and relevant government agency requirements.
- Organize and manage internal EHS audit of all sites and ensure effective corrective actions closure.
- Organize and manage EHS training and awareness program for all sites, including LMS trainings for EHS officers, EHS training and briefing to employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Lead ergonomic initiatives group wide including awareness, performing analysis, and developing solutions aim to provide a safe and healthy work environment.
2. Sungai Buloh Office
In addition to the above, to carry out the following functions at Sungai Buloh office:
- Liaise with DOSH, DOE, BOMBA, Local Authority and other related government agencies for legal compliance and submission of their respective statutory reporting.
- Manage & review EHS committee meetings, emergency response team training, fire drill, workplace EHS audit, maintenance of firefighting systems, scheduled waste management etc.
3. Any other functions and/or responsibilities that may be required from time to time.

Crisis Management and BCM:
- Support implementation of the Group Crisis Management and Business Continuity Plans.
- Support crisis training and BCP testing.
- Prepare EHS crisis response plans according to the identified risks.
- All employees are expected to demonstrate a flexible approach in the delivery of work within the department. They are required to be proactive members of the HR team and work closely with all other members to ensure both timely and best outcomes are achieved for all stakeholders. To support this approach, all HR employees may be required to work with external and internal partners, work across formal lines of accountability and perform duties not specifically identified in the job description but which are in line with the general level of responsibility of the post. Support adhoc project work and provide expertise where necessary as well as undertake any other assignments as may be assigned from time to time.
Education & Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Environmental Studies, Health and Safety or a related field or equivalent education and experience.
Registered as a Safety & Health Officer (SHO) with The Department of Safety & Health (DOSH).
Relevant Experience & Years of Service
Minimum 10 years' working experience in a manufacturing and or similar industry.
Technical Skills & Professional Knowledge
Strong knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) 1994, OSHA (Amendment) Act 2022 and Environmental Quality Act (EQA) 1974.
Excellent analytical skills in technical EHS.
Ability to evaluate and highlight risk.
Strong leadership quality, with ability to lead and work with EHS personnel from other entities in FFM Group.
Strong communication skills, verbal and written and reporting & writing skills in English
Good decision-making and problem-solving skills; strong organisational skills
Independent, a good team player, responsible, trustworthy, meticulous, analytical, innovative and with an eye for details.
