NPI Manager (Engineering Department)


Location:
Simpang Ampat, Penang


Responsibilities:

NPI Process Management

  • Lead and manage a team of NPI Engineers/Technicians to perform NPI activities.
  • Coordinate and work with process engineering and manufacturing teams to plan and execute the successful launch of NPI projects into volume production.
  • Establish the NPI process flow and work with QA to ensure reliability and product quality.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify potential manufacturing challenges and propose solutions to minimize disruptions and delays.
Process Improvement and Analysis

  • Analyze NPI performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.
  • Review the results of various engineering tests, analyze and provide guidance and suggestions for improvement in the NPI process and products.
  • Advocate the company's continuous improvement culture and drive initiatives for process enhancement.
Integration and Communication

  • Ensure endtoend integration of NPI activities, from incoming customer queries to customer feedback on finished products.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams, including process engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to effectively manage NPI projects.
  • Establish effective communication channels with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of NPI activities.
Customer Interaction and Support

  • Work with the customer service department to respond to technical inquiries and meet customer requirements or requests.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve conflicts and reach consensus on customer acceptance requirements.
  • Manage customer complaints and field failures of NPI to minimize impact and ensure customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering or relevant discipline, technical science majors equivalent
  • At least 8 years working experiences in PCB industry, of which at least 5 years has been as a senior engineering leader at a MNC plant, managing team >10 technical personnel
  • Strong knowledge of PCB manufacturing processes, technologies, and industry standards.
Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with design for manufacturing (DFM) principles and techniques.
  • Experience in conducting feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify and address manufacturing challenges and issues during the NPI process.
  • Ability to make informed decisions and provide guidance based on analysis of data and engineering test results.
Leadership

  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and negotiate consensus among different departments and stakeholders.
Ability to Thrive in a Fast-Paced Environment

  • Demonstrated ability to excel and deliver results in a fastpaced, highpressure environment.
  • Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines.
Communication Skills

  • Excellent command of both spoken and written English and Chinese/Mandarin languages.
  • Strong presentation skills to communicate NPI strategies, progress, and results to internal teams, senior management and customers.
