ABOUT SDSN
The UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) has been operating since 2012 under the auspices of the UN Secretary-General.

SDSN mobilizes global scientific and technological expertise to promote practical solutions for sustainable development, including the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Climate Agreement.

We aim to accelerate joint learning and promote integrated approaches that address the interconnected economic, social, and environmental challenges confronting the world.

SDSN works closely with United Nations agencies, multilateral financing institutions, the private sector, and civil society. It is directed by Professor Jeffrey D. Sachs and operates through offices in New York, Paris, and Kuala Lumpur.


ABOUT NETWORKS PROGRAM


The Networks program of SDSN launched its first network in 2013 and has experienced continuous growth ever since, reaching over 1900-member institutions and 55 networks across 6 continents.

SDSN's National and Regional Networks promote the localization and implementation of the SDGs, develop long-term transformation pathways, provide education for sustainable development, and launch Solutions Initiatives to address challenges.

Each network focuses on distinct projects and priorities in line with their local contexts and challenges.

***The SDSN Asia Headquarter (hosted by Sunway University) is seeking a dynamic and talented individual to help develop and manage National and Regional SDSNs in Asia, and to support their efforts to localize the SDGs. Based out of the Kuala Lumpur office of the SDSN, hosted by Sunway University, the staff will report to the Senior Network Manager (KL office) and Director, Finance and Operations (KL office) and works closely with the SDSN Global team. The position may require international travel occasionally.


PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with several National and Regional SDSNs to support them in establishing their structures, developing, and implementing ambitious work programs, and mobilizing resources.
  • Support the membership drive of the SDSN in Asia and the establishment of partnerships and regional coordination with the objective of expanding SDSN's impact, mobilizing funds and/or developing opportunities for covering geographic gaps.
  • Build SDSN services for its members, including communications platforms, databases, capacity building, and templates.
  • Assist the Senior Network Manager to manage the budgets associated with network activities
  • Represent the SDSN at meetings and conferences.
  • Prepare and contribute to the SDSN publications.
  • Support new special initiatives of the SDSN.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Passion for the mission of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network.
  • Minimum four years combined relevant experience.
  • Successful record of project management, including the ability to motivate others and the flexibility to respond to changing priorities in a fastpaced environment.
  • Outstanding English oral and written communication skills. Full proficiency desirable in one or more other languages.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage partnerships and client relationships at a senior level.
  • Masters degree in economics, development, natural sciences, engineering, business, or related discipline.
