Your Role and Responsibilities

IBM is seeking to hire Tax Analysts to support tax operations for non-US entities in Asia Pacific. The Tax Analysts will be part of the Asia Pacific Tax Centre of Excellence based in Kuala Lumpur.


Key responsibilities include:

  • The Tax Analyst role primarily supports direct tax operations for nonUS entities in Asia Pacific.
  • The analyst responsibilities focus on, but are not limited to, preparation of various tax returns and support of the tax calculations for the various income tax returns (Corporate Income Tax (CIT) / Withholding Tax (WHT) on foreign or domestic supplies where applicable, etc.), USGAAP reporting including income tax liability and cash tax forecasts, internal & external audit support.
  • The analyst interacts with both internal and external stakeholders on tax matters, and works closely with the country tax teams and other IBM support functions, such as accounting and treasury.
  • The analyst must maintain controls, audit readiness and compliance including ensuring compliance with IBM's Tax Controls Framework and Tax Policies.
  • The analyst will demonstrate strong communication skills, be committed to meeting all deadlines, prioritize workload, and utilize agile processes, methods and tools.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 4 to 5 years relevant tax experience, with emphasis on corporate income taxes, withholding taxes, income tax accounting, and tax operations.
  • Fluent English (spoken and written), additional language skills (e.g. Mandarin, Thai, Korean, Japanese) is an advantage.
  • Proficient Excel skills, SQL knowledge is an advantage. Selfstarter with attention to detail and learning agility.
