Job Purpose_

  • Use correct and accurate coding for a clinical diagnosis and procedure as stated in the Discharge Summary by attending Consultant.
  • Extract, import, sort and align raw data form the OH2000 (HMIS); and to produce statistical data or report for morbidity and mortality and eReporting format for submission to Ministry of Health Malaysia.
  • Collect data for MAI, KPI and other departmental monthly reports for resubmission to the Clinical Services Head/COO.

Duties and Responsibilities_

  • Use correct and accurate the coding for clinical diagnosis and procedure coding according to INTERNATIONAL CLASSIFICATION OF DISEASES ICD 10th and procedure coding according to PRIVATE HEALTHCARE FACILITIES (PHFS) Procedure List based on DISCHARGE SUMMARY findings as stated by discharging Consultants.
  • Key in the diagnosis and procedure coding for every discharge patient of the month into the OH2000 (HMIS).
  • Prepare the whole set of eReporting templates to submit to KKM.
  • Prepare MAI, MO study and other QIE (Quality Indicator Reports) to submit to Manager for checking to approval.
  • Must be courteous and efficient in dealing with all enquiries, establish good rapport with doctors, management team members, colleagues and staff from others units or department.
  • Able to rotate duty with other staff in the department when the need arises especially in care of annual leave, medical leave and emergency leave.
  • Perform and execute other tasks or duties as assigned by the Medical Records Manager from time to time.

Qualifications_

  • Possess a certificate of ICD10th Coding from certified bodies is an advantages.
  • Minimum Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) with 5 years experience as a Medical Coder using ICD9th, ICD019th and ICD9 CM or a diploma in Healthcare Management / Health Information Management System.

Skills.

  • Computer literate.
  • Knowledge of medical multidisciplinary terminology, ICD 10th Coding is a
    MUST

  • Basic supervisory, time management and jobs prioritizing skills.

Salary:

RM3, RM5,500.00 per month
