POSITION OVERVIEW


You will monitor and organize the efforts of technical and documentational support and entrust the research efforts for Regional Water-base adhesive development.

You will directly involve on development projects based on key segments of beverage labelling, packaging maker, Durable assembly and other segments of future needs.

You will be reporting to Regional Technical Manager and work from our SEA R&D laboratory, Klang.


PRIMARY DUTIES


You will work closely with SEA commercial teams, operation team to drive and track R&D project results entirely, including collect information, preparation, designing, developing, handling formulations, plant support and customer technical support.

You will be involved in a variety of research, development and technical service activities, including:


  • Ability to formulate, innovate new product, technology per market business needs and support successful commercialization of the product.
  • Carrying out experiments to improve upon or to duplicate materials and substances as part of continuous cost reduction efforts on current and new formulations.
  • Consistently engaging in research to develop new methods of processing or production for best efficiency and meet customer needs.
  • Appling and interpreting standard scientific theories, concepts and techniques.
  • Managing and completing multiple projects independently, drawing conclusions, articulating results and their meaning, including value propositions and business impact.
  • Identifying and developing solutions to problems where causal relationships can be identified, and some precedence may exist.
  • Documenting test results, preparing customer ready reports, and process improvement recommendations in systems and records.
  • Using statistical analysis tools and Design of Experiments (DOE) with guidance.
  • Contributing, coordinating, and communicating as a member on one or more crossfunctional teams (commercial, operation, finance) and global teams.
  • Documenting project updates and executing projects using project management methodologies (Planview Systems).
  • Fulfilling responsibilities as required by the Quality System for the site/business unit.
  • Working in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Continuous updating systems (Planview, TKS, Hub, Mysis, SAP) related to respective projects and BOMs.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Masters or Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer, Material Science or any other related disciplines.
  • At least 8 years of experience in R&D formulation (Waterbased) for the beverage labelling, packaging maker, durable assembly and related segments.
  • Prior exposure working across the SEA region and handson experience servicing customers.
  • Knowledge of the raw materials used in the development of Waterbased adhesive or related product lines.
  • Good writing and presentation skills, as both are required while interacting with external customers and internal colleagues.
  • Full fluency (writing, speaking, and reading) in English and Mandarin (additional advantage).
