About the Project:
This position is critical to the successful and safe execution of the project within the Client's facility in Melaka or Johor.
You will play a key role in ensuring the well-being of all personnel and compliance with all relevant safety regulations and project standards.
Responsibilities:
- Implement safety plans and procedures specific to the project, including conducting risk assessments, identifying hazards, and mitigating risks through control measures.
- Enforce all safety rules and regulations, including OSHA regulations and specific requirements outlined by the Client and the project owner.
- Conduct regular safety inspections of the worksite, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE) to identify and address potential hazards.
- Provide safety training and education to all project personnel, including subcontractors, on safe work practices, emergency procedures, and use of PPE.
- Investigate any accidents or incidents that occur on the site and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Prepare and maintain accurate safety records and reports, and submit them to the project manager and relevant authorities as required.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with environmental regulations and best practices on the project site.
- Liaise with project stakeholders on safety matters, including the project manager, contractors, and safety officers.
- Promote a positive safety culture on the site by leading by example and demonstrating a strong commitment to safety.
Requirements:
- Possess at least Certificate/Diploma in Safety and Health or related qualification.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Site Safety Supervisor/Safety Officer or in a similar role in construction, solar, or oil & gas industry.
- Registered with NIOSH/DOSH/JKKP (Yellow Book).
- Strong knowledge of occupational safety and health (OSH) principles and regulations, including OSHA regulations and relevant Malaysian standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders.
- Leadership and supervisory skills to motivate and guide project personnel on safety matters.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Proactive and resultsoriented with a strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
- Strong physical fitness to work outdoors in variable weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
