    Data Center Operations Technician Trainee - Expression of Interest

    We are seeking a Data Center Operations trainee as part of our Work Based Learning Program (WBLP). The program involves 12 months of work and training, during which you will gain hands-on experience in maintaining and operating our data centers.

    AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to innovative technologies.

    You'll collaborate with a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. Together, we aim to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.

    This role offers a unique opportunity to work in cutting-edge data centers. Our data centers are large-scale high-density facilities where you will be working on changing the face of cloud technology in the region.

    Critical customer data is handled with utmost importance. Selected candidates must perform repetitive tasks without variance and adhere to strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to protect and properly handle customer data.

    This position requires strong technical skills, a self-motivated individual who can adhere to processes and perform repetitive tasks with no deviation. Team members need excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with their own team and other teams.

    As a trainee, you will spend 12 months learning about our data center operations, interacting with support teams and customers. You will experience the latest technologies of our cloud, putting you among top talents of data center technical support teams. By the end of the program, you will be assessed on your learnings to see if you have what it takes to join our growing team and become a full-time Amazonian.

    Key Job Responsibilities:

    1. Perform routine activities on hardware, operating systems, including installation, troubleshooting, and replacement of internal and external hardware parts of Servers and Network devices.
    2. Perform storage media sanitization and destruction tasks.
    3. Follow well-defined SOPs to replace hardware components or media spares.
    4. Adhere to information security policies and physical safety practices.
    5. Work within a ticket-based environment and resolve problems systematically.
    6. Movement of equipment using assisted lifting machinery.
    7. Collaborate with internal teams, sharing ideas, and contributing to projects that improve DC work environment and overall efficiencies.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    1. Familiarity with System hardware and Network devices.
    2. Strong written and verbal communication skills and a team player attitude.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    1. Diploma or Technical certifications in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplines.
    2. Familiarity with server hardware troubleshooting, network protocols, and Linux operating systems.
    3. Knowledge about Data Center operations: Inventory Management, Hot/Cold Aisles, Security.
    4. Data Center environment safety and security awareness.
