Overview

The Manager

Sustainability will be reporting to the Chief Sustainability Office and to act as the main coordinator and enabler of the Bank's sustainability efforts by identifying, strategizing, measuring, and mitigating climate action plans and targets while advocating for greener financing solutions and a lowcarbon economy.

Job Responsibilities

Responsible for implementing and managing the Bank's sustainability and climate action strategies/initiatives.
Identify, measure, monitor and analyze the Bank's GHG emission Scope 1, 2, and 3 for the Bank to set and achieve its Net Zero targets.
Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to identify, assess, and mitigate physical and transition risks related to the environment.
Act as an advocate to our customers, assisting them in reducing their carbon footprint and achieving carbon neutrality.
To ensure alignment of climate action, decarbonization strategy and sustainable financing to the Sustainability Division and the Bank's sustainable strategic intent and goals for the financial year.
Undertake research and conduct peer benchmarking reviews on areas related to climate change & environment.
Facilitate the creation of innovative sustainable financing solutions to accelerate the transition to a lowcarbon economy.
Coordinate with lines of business and functions to drive growth in sustainable finance.
Manage and coordinate sustainable financing initiatives such as green bond framework, green and sustainable securitizations, VBI, sustainabilitylinked loans etc.
Stay uptodate with emerging environmental regulations, industry best practices and local and international taxonomies to ensure compliance and promote sustainable business practices.
Foster relationships with key stakeholders, including regulators, industry experts, and clients, to drive positive change and sustainable outcomes.
Job Requirement
Malaysian citizen.
Degreelevel qualifications in climatology, applied climatology, environmental science, environmental geology or a related discipline. 5 year experience and above in climaterelated fields, climate finance, sustainable finance, banking, environmental science, environmental geology or a similar field.
Strong technical proficiency in the sciences, with a solid understanding of climate change and environmental risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
Excellent communication skills to effectively advocate for environmentally responsible strategies and engage stakeholders.
