This role supports a robust control and compliance environment and contributes to implement EMEA Operations Finance innovations and projects.
What will I be doing?


The Receiving Clerk is responsible for all activities related to the Hotel's goods receiving process and recording of goods received in close co-operation with the Accounts Payable / OTP (Order to Procure department).

Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:


  • Responsible for proper documentation and distribution of records of all merchandise entering the hotel, such as purchase orders,Market, grocery, beverage and tobacco list, etc.
  • Oversee the proper distribution of all merchandise received to either the storerooms or in the case of direct order, to the department concerned.
  • Responsible for outgoing merchandises, such as beverage containers, being properly documented and accounted for as to quantity.
  • Responsible for proper completion of all receiving report and posting of invoices.
  • Any discrepancies of cost against the purchases records or quotations have to be highlighted to the Cost Controller followed by a request for credit note.
  • All partial deliveries are to be noted in the purchase records pending, complete or order.
  • To ensure all handling of food items are in accordance with the Hotel's Food Safety Policy.
  • Ensures that receiving procedures are correctly followed
  • Ensures that goods are correct according to the order
  • Ensures that goods are acceptable quality and condition
  • Ensures that goods are the correct weight
  • Ensures that only goods ordered and signed are received
  • To check, prepare report and follow up with end user for all pending PO in the system (Check SCM).
  • Ensure that F&B; and General store inventory are well safe keep, safety PAR level is maintain and FIFO method is implement
  • Ensure month end stock count is conduct with Store Listing without prepopulated quantity with the witness from respective department concerned
  • Carry out any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Purchasing Manager.
  • Monitors slow and dead stock, informing dept heads and suggesting action to rectify.
  • Carries out detailed cost comparisons on a rotational basis.
  • Completes a monthly stock take of the bulk store rooms, ensuring that any discrepancies are investigated, corrected and reported to the Director of Finance
  • Liaises with the kitchen to ensure stock received is correct and food costs are kept to a minimum.
  • Liaises with the bars and restaurant manager to ensure that beverage stocks are kept to a minimum and beverage costs are also minimised.
  • Implements cost saving initiatives in conjunction with the bars and restaurant department and the finance department.

  • Ability to analyze large volume of complex financial information from many sources and create reports, forecasts, and projections
  • Strong problem solving skills, including ability to effectively address any issue in collaboration with others as appropriate
  • Ability to proactively identify and prevent potential problems
  • Ability to help develop problem solving skills among direct reports and other team members as appropriate
  • Ability to take initiative to identify, prioritize and implement all elements required for team to fulfill responsibilities
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Ability to develop presentations and effectively present to all levels of company, hotels & owners.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills (all levels of management and external customers)
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word and Outlook with the ability to quickly learn new programs when required

Additional Preferences:

  • University degree in Accounting or Finance
