In addition, you will have the opportunity to be a part of multidisciplinary project teams and network with ERM's global marine science and impact assessment technical communities to share resources and best practice approaches across the industry.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and provide technical expertise on marine Environmental Impact Assessment and supporting studies such as marine Environmental Baseline Studies, marine Biodiversity Action Plans, Net Positive Impact or similar outcomes.
  • Lead preparation of client and regulatory EIAs and supporting requirements. Contribute to preparing EIA and other marine deliverables, serving in roles ranging from lead technical expert to quality review. Perform project delivery activities such as report writing, data collection and survey field work, data and literature review, and development of recommendations for clients.
  • Prepare technical proposals, including development of technical scopes and cost estimates, and participate in business development with existing clients and identified leads. Maintain client relationships to support repeat business.
  • Oversee projects within client's scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.
  • Collaborate with other ERM IAP practitioners to execute Impact Assessment and Permitting (IAP) projects (services within our IAP service area include environmental impact assessment, facility siting & permitting, and risk assessment).
  • Supervise junior
- and mid-level consulting staff to develop their skill sets in EIA.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with other ERM employees locally, regionally, and nationwide.

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field (marine science, environmental science, environmental management).
  • Relevant post graduate qualifications such as Masters or PhD would be an advantage
  • Minimum of 47 years of experience in Impact Assessment.
  • Offshore energy experience is required.
  • Technical competence in undertaking marine assessments to support environmental approvals.
  • Critical thinker skills i.e. able to synthesize large amounts of data into meaningful outcomes
  • Excellent report writing, data collation and management/presentation skills
  • Motivated to proactively contribute to a team environment, share knowledge, skills and ideas
  • Demonstrable project management experience is an advantage
  • Adhering to all ERM and client requirements, specifically those related to H&S and governance.
  • Using ERM's methodologies and technologies consistently in line with ERM and client expectations.
  • Managing and successfully delivering small discrete projects/tasks and /or specific deliverables or phases of work on larger projects.
  • Supervising subcontractors during fieldwork, ensuring they comply with ERM's Health & Safety policies and ABC code and work is completed in line with project scope.
