About the Role


Ensure that AIA Malaysia can meet the financial reporting requirements required by Group Office, covering group reporting bases for AIAB, APTB, AGB and AIA Re businesses.


Produce timely management information and insightful analysis on the key financial performance indicator of AIA Malaysia to drive strategic discussions / actions.

Responsible to plan, allocate and develop the Actuarial resources to support the business needs. Accountable to enhance staff engagement level, cultivate Change mentality and manage resources efficiently.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a team of 7 members to produce and analyze the IFRS17 related results for AIA Malaysia's entities. These include OPAT Analysis of Movements.
  • Presenting financial results and provide insights to senior management in managing OPAT, particularly on inforce management (expense, claim and persistency) and new business contractual service margin.
  • Lead the annual business planning and budgeting exercise for OPAT related results through collaboration within Actuarial and with Finance teams from different entities.
  • Responsible for ensuring internal controls/reconciliation and compliance with external reporting requirements and provide timely response to internal and external auditors.
  • Find opportunity of processes improvements and plan out the execution within team to streamline processes and standardize analyses.
  • Develop and equip the team members with relevant technical and execution knowledge and skills about IFRS17 to support the business needs.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and carry out regular career development dialogue and provide constructive feedback to direct reports.
  • Cultivate an engaged learning culture of understanding on what to look out in daily work and encourage team's curiosity/desire to learn, promote team confidence and independence.

Minimum Job Requirements:
- _ Degree in Actuarial Science or other educational background with significant mathematical and analytical courses_
- _ Fellow or nearly qualified of an internationally recognized actuarial professional body_
- _ At least 7 years of actuarial working experience_
- _ Solid experience and knowledge in the financial reporting processes, valuation models and controls and change management of reporting processes. Strong understanding of IFRS17 requirement and results_
- _ Good leadership, collaborator management and communication skill_
- _ Strong in resources and people management, coaching skill_
