    Senior Mechanical Colocation Regional Engineer, Colocation Regional Engineering

    A high-level technical professional is needed to support the design, planning, delivery, and operation of AWS global infrastructure. This role will work on complex engineering challenges with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain.

    This position requires a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment related to data centers, including uninterruptible power sources, diesel generators, and cooling systems. The ideal candidate will have experience managing engineering projects and consultants, as well as building relationships with stakeholders.

    The successful candidate will lead projects to fit out data centers to meet evolving customer needs, and will be responsible for troubleshooting site/equipment failures and providing technical support to operating partners.

    This role offers a unique opportunity to work on diverse projects, sometimes in multiple geographical regions, and to interface with various teams responsible for all aspects of data centers.

    • Possess Strong Engineering Judgement and are able to provide recommendations despite uncertainty
    • Are detail and data oriented
    • Have experience managing engineering projects and consultants.
    • Build trust and relationships with different stakeholders (e.g., Business Development, Operations, Commissioning, Construction and Design)

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Engineering degree in Electrical, Mechanical or related discipline
    • 10+ cumulative years with industrial or commercial engineering in Mission Critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation, oil / gas facilities.
    • Basic understanding of both mechanical and electrical equipment/design related to data centers (Including but not limited to: uninterruptible power sources , diesel generators, electrical switch-gear, power distribution units, variable frequency drives, automatic/static transfer switches, chillers [air-cooled and water-cooled], pumps, cooling towers, heat exchangers, CRAHs, air economizers, etc...)
    • Direct experience with the design, construction, operation, or maintenance of mission critical facilities, especially data centers.

    PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Master's degree in engineering
    • 10+ cumulative years in data center design experience; co-location experience a plus
    • Experience as resident engineer or hands-on (in the field) design consultant.
    • Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer-In-Training (EIT)
    • Prior project management experience with PMP, PMI
