Global Risk
Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management.

The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, operational, credit, pension, insurance, compliance, regulatory, market, reputation and geopolitical risks.

  • We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join this team in the role of

Manager, Policy & Risk Governance.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Accountable for ensuring full compliance to all applicable Regulations, Global policies, Regional Guidelines and local policies that impacts WPB.

This entails the following**:
-
Ensure a detailed review of all new/changes in Regulations, Global policies and Regional Guidelines to determine applicability. Accountable for ensuring detailed gap analysis is performed with follow through to ensure compliance. -** Continuous review and clarification (if required) of any existing Regulations, Global policies, Regional Guidelines and local policies to ensure no gaps.

  • Independently steer engagements with stakeholders to ensure policy requirements are fully understood for accurate implementation. Stakeholders includes Regional Risk, Local Regulatory Compliance and respective Risk Stewards.
  • Support the WPB Risk Head in managing all reviews i.e. BNM's Composite Rating Review, Internal Audit reviews, external auditor's reviews and Risk & Compliance Assurance Services reviews.
  • Actively engage with the Quality Assurance team to determine any non compliance of Regulations, Global policies, Regional Guidelines and local policies. Ensure all appropriate escalations are timely done, remediation by the responsible stakeholders and ensuring the gaps are fully remediated to prevent recurrence.
  • Responsible to ensure submission of all governance papers are done accurately and timely. These papers include submission (amongst others) to the Risk Management Meeting, Market Reviews, Country Credit Risk Forum and WPB Risk Management Forum. This involves effective engagement with relevant product Risk Heads to obtain updated and accurate information to be embedded in the report.
  • Responsible to ensure all report submissions are performed accurately and timely. These reports include submissions to the Regulators, Group Risk, Regional Risk, local stakeholders as well as external agencies e.g. rating agencies and external auditors.
  • Accountable for monitoring and governance of critical timelines to ensure no delays. This includes (amongst others) review of the Portfolio Exposure Limits, Portfolio Development Authorities, Risk Mitigation Tools policies, Risk Reward Programs and Local Lending Guidelines.
  • Support effective monitoring of gaps by lodging issues as MSIIs and monitoring of MAPs completion within the committed timelines.
  • Ensure Transaction Authorities Limit reviews are performed timely and accurate decisions are taken as an outcome of the review.
Requirements


Requirements:


  • Minimum Degree qualification and with at least five years of banking experience;
Retail banking experience is required with good knowledge of retail banking products and the credit cycle.
Sound understanding and knowledge of local regulations and guidelines related to retail banking products.
Strong team player with good interpersonal and effective communication skills.

Good relationship management skills at all levels with proven ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels within the Bank.

Proactive, detailed, meticulous with strong drive to ensure full compliance of all requirements.
Excellent Word, Excel and Powerpoint proficiency.
SAS, Qlikview and Python knowledge will be an added advantage.
