Key Responsibilities:


  • Interfacing directly with external accounting firms to assist in the preparation and filing of monthly and quarterly GST, VAT, and SST returns for our international locations.
  • Compiling various documents and reports to support the monthly and quarterly GST, VAT, and SST return review and filing process.
  • Preparing journal entries related to GST and VAT return filing and payment activities.
  • Assisting with the design and implementation of procedures to reconcile monthly, quarterly, and annual activities related to various indirect tax filing requirements.
  • Assisting with the preparation and filing of tax returns for various types of indirect tax related to foreign and domestic operations.
  • Performing research related to various indirect tax compliance requirements.
  • Assisting with external audits of various types of indirect tax, including gathering, organizing, and analyzing audit data, and working with auditors to drive audit resolution.
  • Assisting Fastenal stores, customers, and others with correct Indirect Tax exemption requirements and other tax questions.
  • Identifying and implementing procedural improvements to enhance efficiency.
  • Planning and organizing activities to complete assigned tasks on time with a high level of accuracy.
  • Completing special projects and other administrative tasks.

Qualifications:


  • Possess or are working towards a degree in Accounting.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Willingness and ability to manage resultsdriven projects.
  • Highly motivated, selfdirected, and customer service oriented.
  • Demonstrate strong organization, planning, and prioritizing abilities.
  • Exhibit strong problemsolving, deductive reasoning, and decisionmaking skills.
  • Ability to learn and perform multiple tasks in a fastpaced environment.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity, and teamwork.
  • Experience working in a taxrelated field is an advantage.
  • Proficient using PeopleSoft is an advantage.
