Summary:


The Plant Controller position is to lead the overall plant finance operation and being a core team member in Plant Leadership Team (PLT) assist in improving plant costs through effective budget control and accurate costing & data analytics.

This position is also responsible for the design and maintenance of the overall internal control environment and alignment to accounting policies / standards.

This position requires broad business perspective and must work effectively within a team environment to provide information and services to many other plant and corporate departments (Manufacturing, Engineering, QRC, Planning & Logistics, R&D etc).

Through direct supervision of accounting support staff this position ensures accuracy, timeliness, and effectiveness of financial/operational reports of both internal and external customers, furnishes management with the necessary information/analysis to plan, control, and evaluate manufacturing operations.


Responsibilities:


Business Partnership

  • Business partner to Plant Manager and being core team members in PLT.
  • Proactively and constructively providing guidance to improve operation performance and thus achieving cost competitiveness.
  • Driving positive manufacturing variance through leading investigation and establishing actionable guidance to PLT.
  • Provide advice to PLT on areas of opportunity (ie. cost savings initiatives)
  • Ensure strong internal control on daytoday inventory management process.

Costing

  • Ensure accurate standard costing being maintained.
  • Establishing capability in accurate product costing simulation with a robust BOM and production process understanding.

Financial Reporting

  • Ensure integrity of plant financial records and safeguarding of plant assets.
  • Leading the analytical process of plant's operational and financial performance on a monthly basis.
  • Presenting plant financial performance to PLT with actionable insightful input.
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly plant's operational and financial performance reporting.

Budget & Planning/Outlook

  • Lead the preparation and presentation of annual budget, quantitative standards, strat plan and monthly outlook through effective management.
  • Advice and counsel PLT and cost center owners on sound budgeting policies/process.

Internal Control

  • Lead the design and maintenance of the Internal Control framework to ensure Malaysia plant operation is complying to accounting policies / standards and SOX control at all times.

Organization Development

  • Effectively leading a plant accounting team to be a highperformance team which provides excellent supports to the operations team and work closely with multifunction team (ie. Corporate finance, GBS and regional finance teams)

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:

  • Ability to work mature and independently under fast-paced environment with mínimal supervision.
  • Team player and able to communicate effectively in both English and Bahasa
  • Integrity and able to provide objective decision to improve P&L bottom line.
  • Good business sense, committed and responsible in meeting deadline.
  • Proactive, organize and problemsolving mindset.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP, SOX and financial policies/control
  • SAP or equivalent ERP system exposure is a must.
  • Good Microsoft Excel analytic skills

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:


  • Minimum Degree in Accountancy/Finance. ACCA, CIMA or CPA preferred.
  • Minimum 12 years senior position experience in manufacturing Environment (good understanding of standard costing and variance analysis). Preferably in multinational manufacturing environment
  • SAP or equivalent ERP system exposure is a must.
