Job Summary:
The Chief Health Officer provides leadership and oversight of the health business of the company.

This position is integral to the organization's growth and success, focusing on developing a sustainable health portfolio, creating innovative products, deliver superior customer experiences, and establishing a strong presence within the healthcare ecosystem.

The role exists to lead the Business Unit in becoming a frontrunner in the health insurance industry, making significant contributions to the overall success to support the Company's overall vision and strategy.


The Chief Health Officer, will report directly to the CEO of the BU, and to the CEO of Health for Prudential Plc, playing a crucial role in aligning the health business with the overall goals and strategy of the company.

The CHO will be instrumental in shaping and implementing the end-to-end health strategy to achieve the financial and strategic KPIs for the health business, developing medical-related standards, ensuring alignment with regional and country-level health outcomes, regulatory compliance, and industry standards.

The role operates in a dynamic and evolving business environment, where innovation and digital transformation are essential components of success.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Health Business Leadership
  • Drive revenue growth of the health business and increase the takeup of health insurance propositions.
  • Ensure short and long term profitability of the health business, managing Net Business Profit (NBP) and combined/loss ratio through sustainable pricing
  • Enhance customer experience, measured by Customer Net Promoter Score (NPS) and customer retention.
  • Health Strategy
  • To drive development of an endtoend health strategy for the company, and to ensure that this strategy is being implemented effectively and efficiently.
  • Establish medicalrelated standards for health business, including underwriting and claims policies.
  • Develop a critical set of health related capabilities (including but not limited to digital, clinical, provider management, proposition innovation, pricing) in support of the health strategy.
  • Demonstrate a strong results orientation when it comes to the delivery of all of the health related business outcomes.
  • Health Ready Distribution
  • Engage effectively with distribution channels to enable the strategy including but not limited to design and deployment of:
  • Products and propositions
  • Compensation structures
  • Training and sales materials
  • Campaigns
  • Proposition Development
  • Coordinate with product team in development of new health products/riders
  • Lead the gotomarket strategies.
  • Lead repricing initiatives for health plans.
  • Identify and successfully secure partnerships focused on specific services that will enhance the customer value proposition and/or support the containment of medical claims cost.
  • Health Pricing
  • Responsible for pricing health products and solutions ensuring balance between competitiveness and profitability and capital constraints, setting suitable assumptions and deriving appropriate pricing approaches.
  • To ensure regulatory for new health products
  • Health Analytics
  • Conduct analytics to understand cost drivers, identifying opportunities for improvements or risk mitigation.
  • Develop comprehensive medical cost containment strategies to ensure the longterm sustainability of the health business
  • Utilize customer insights for solution development and enhance product offerings.
  • Network Management
  • Manage and where needed expand the network of panel hospitals and clinics to extract value for customers and the company.
  • Develop effective mechanisms to steer customers to the provider that offers the right quality care at the right time at the right cost.
  • Collaborate with potential partners to enrich propositions and broaden services, including pre and posthospitalization.
  • Effective Collaboration
  • Drive strong collaboration across all relevant functions and stakeholders within the Business Unit (including but not limited to Customer, Marketing, Distribution, Finance, Technology)
  • Effectively partner with the Global Head Office Health Team to jointly develop health capabilities in support of the successful execution of the health strategy.
  • Develop and maintain a strong external network within the wider health ecosystem to identify opportunities for valueadd partnerships and potential inorganic growth opportunities.
