The Digital Risk & Control team, a global specialist first line team within the Wealth & Personal Banking (WPB) Chief Controls Office (CCO), works to support and enable WPB's digital strategy, a core component of the success of the retail and wealth business line.

The team seeks to proactively mitigate risk, building and strengthening controls for WPB's digital estate, and our customers' interactions with the bank through digital channels.

The team works in close partnership with the WPB Valuestreams, product, transformation and technology leads, second line of defense areas, and other CCO teams globally, regionally and in market with a focus on three core key pillars of work:


Support globally-led digital change in WPB:

Following our established team processes, and in partnership with the second line of defense risk stewards, to identify and analyse areas of risk that may be present for new digital customer experiences, or new digital services or platforms.


Working with commercial, customer and cost outcomes, design in controls for those new capabilities, and then support with launching into multiple markets.


Ensuring risks are within appetite, controls are effective and monitored as the change programmes moves from new development to business as usual.


Active controls management and maturity for global platforms:
Articulation and management of lower level control instances for the core
digital platforms and operating capabilities, operated at the centre, and consumed by all WPB markets.

Perform incident analysis, root cause issue identification and deep dive controls reviews as required across the WPB digital and analytics estate.


Hub-and-spoke market support:

Each team member also acts as an established point of contact for market stakeholders
or support and expertise associated risk and controls for WPB digital change or digital capabilities.

What you will need to succeed in the role:

What additional skills will be good to have?

Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent from a good university, ideally in Computer Science or similar.
  • Understating of digital banking and customerfacing technology.
  • An understanding of risks relevant to banking services, particularly for nonfinancial risk.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong communication, presentation and influencing skills the ability to communicate to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Proven problemsolving skills with ability to consider alternative and lateral solutions.
