Cost Analyst - Kota Kinabalu, Sabah - Private Advertiser

As we continue to grow, we're looking for a sharp and proactive Cost Analyst to help us optimize production costs, boost efficiency, and support smart financial decisions across our operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive cost monitoring system to identify trends, anomalies, and cost-saving opportunities, and saving opportunities of direct & indirect materials and operations.
• Track and monitor operational and project-related expenses and variances including proposing realistic solutions
• Ensure accurate cost allocation across labour, materials, indirect expenses, and other cost components.
• Report to Senior Management Team on cost structure optimization and the financial implications of business decisions.
• Provide scenario analysis and financial modelling to assist management decision-making.
• Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Marketing, and Procurement to related functions to ensure accurate cost allocations, inventory optimization, efficient resource allocations, and reporting.
• Facilitate data-driven decision-making through reliable cost forecasting and impact analysis.
• Communicate cost insights effectively to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Support presentations, board reports, and strategic business reviews.

Requirements

• Strong navigator of "costs", ie, tracking "where" money goes, analysing "why" and guiding the Management on "how" to produce more efficiently
• Professional certifications of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance are desirable but not mandatory.
• Minimum years of experience in cost analysis, financial planning, or management accounting.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Mandarin is essential.
• Familiar with advanced Excel and financial modelling, including ERP / Financial / Digitalization systems.
• Turnaround issues promptly, resourceful, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to work both independently and good teamwork.
