About Akash Ahmed:
I am a recently graduated mechanical engineer from a very renowned university in Malaysia. UCSI University is ranked top 287th in the world according to qs ranking. I have done two internships throughout my degree and worked on various projects during my studies. My first training was at Sony EMCS, it was located in Penang, Malaysia. It was a manufacturing factory of SONY where various SONY Electronics products were manufactured, assembled, and exported all over the world. I was working in Quality Assurance Department (Mechanical). The job was to ensure the parts received from partner companies (vendors and suppliers) are up to the quality mark of SONY. Tasks included communicating with supplier companies, inspecting partner production areas, inspecting SONY production lines, inspecting defected parts, and finding the cause of a defect, to differentiate whether the defect occurred during assembly or from the supplier production site. Applying quality tests on parts to check it's paint quality, dimensions, and strength. Second Internship was at an engineering Service providing Company. MTBS(Multi Tech Business System) is a Service providing construction companies, which works with private clients, private companies, and Government Tenders. Some Multinational Companies for whom they are providing services are ZTE and Huawei. I worked there as an assistant Project Engineer. My job was to assist the project engineer at the work site and to do documentation. the task included conducting a site survey, taking all important measurements, prepare CAD drawings for the site. Communicating with suppliers. Maintaining quality. Projects included the Installation of Solar Plates and Telecommunication Towers at various sites in Pakistan. Other than that, my Final Year Project was on Increasing the Efficiency of Plate Heat Exchanger, in my project I successfully designed a Plate Heat Exchanger by using SolidWorks Software and increased its efficiency by making mechanical modifications in its design by using SolidWorks. The Designs were analyzed in ANSYS Fluent Flow Software to asses their efficiency. The efficiency of the Plate Heat Exchanger was successfully increased by 20%. In my Capstone Project, we worked in a group of 5 students. The Project site was at Taman Melawati River Site 3 in Malaysia. The Project was to build a rotatable Bridge at the river considering the condition that the area usually gets flooded up to a few meters. Designs were constructed by using Solidworks software, and the design was assessed in ANSYS Static Structural Software to assess its deformation and strength. A suitable Rotating mechanism and material were selected.
