DINESH PRASAD

My name is Dinesh, and I am soon to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry (Hons) from University Putra Malaysia. Recently, I completed an enriching internship at SuperDNA, where I gained valuable hands-on experience (Whole genome sequencing).

My passion lies in researching the human brain, driven by a personal connection: a history of dementia in my family. Witnessing the impact of this condition on my ancestors has fueled my dedication to contribute meaningfully to the field of dementia research.

Joining the Dementia Research Center (DRCS) is not just a career move for me; it is a heartfelt commitment. I am eager to be part of a team that is making strides in understanding and combating this debilitating disease. The opportunity to contribute to DRCS’s vital research aligns perfectly with my academic background, my internship experience, and my personal passion for making a difference in the lives of those affected by dementia.

I have experiences in clinical trials using zebrafish embryos. I've learned basic bioinformatics (Mega X, NCBI, Bioedit)

• I did my internship in a DNA test providing company (SuperDNA) learning and experiencing Whole genome sequencing (NGS)
• I have worked with zebrafish embryos testing toxicity towards pectin extracted from pomegranate peel
• I have studied in UKW, Poland for a semester via student exchange programme. (Applied Hydrobiology, Forensic genetics)
• I'm a part time tuition teacher for primary and secondary schools(Addmaths, Science, Maths, English)
• I have worked in a Financial firm (Blueprint Planning) producing Financial report for clients
