My name is Jacob Ling Yik Kang. I have a Master Degree with Honours in Mechanical Engineering
from The University of Nottingham and I have 4 years work experience as Project Engineer /
Operations Engineer in Oil & Gas (commercial diving) sector. Having 10 years of working experience
within the Oil & Gas sector, I have developed expertise in project management, project scheduling,
vessel / ROV audits, and project logistic arrangements. My job scope includes attending to Client
requirement and managing the daily operations of ROV / Air / Saturation diving vessel. Occasionally I
am required to travel to Labuan and Singapore for vessel mobilization and audit. In addition, I’ve 3
years of experience in Consultancy (M&E) sector which involves designing Mechanical & Electrical
services for construction projects and project management works.
Besides the skills from project management, I am highly computer literate. I am proficient with
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) and Microsoft Project. I have advanced knowledge of
CAD program for example Autocad LT for 2D and SketchUp for 3D Drawing. Most of the time I am
considered as the ‘IT guy’ in the office, as I am always asked to assist in solving or fixing general
computer problems, without needing to go through the IT department.
