About Jasmine Michael:
I'm a recent honours graduate with a BSc (Hons) in Physics from UTM, Malaysia, hoping to start off my career as a Geophysicist. As a research intern of Xenesys Inc. in 2023, working on the commissioning of the very first hybrid ocean thermal energy conversion plant in the world right here in Malaysia, I’m equipped with hands on work experience in pump installations and maintenance, seawater flow calculations and contributed to problem solving of the issue of inadequate seawater flow, Fortran programming capabilities in executing and monitoring steam power plants operations, as well as gas turbine design and installation. I’m proficient in ValveLink™, which I used in studying the processes of each equipment, I also used simulations to understand fluid flow and pressure control, specifically in the novel heat exchanger. I also aided in preparing HSE reports during the commissioning of the facility for the project manager and weekly project reports to be shared during weekly project meetings with Japanese stakeholders. I have experience of well log analysis from SLB’s Techlog workshops I attended during an undergraduate level competition organised by the then, Schlumberger, and Petrel software capabilities. I have experience as an electrical engineer intern from my 2nd year of my degree performing preventative maintenance on lab equipment.
