As a chemist with two years of experience in the anodizing and water-borne coating fields under surface refinishing industry. I am highly detail-oriented and possess a strong ability to adapt to new challenges.   Executive Chemist (Anodizing & Water-Borne Coating) (January 2022 to Present)

   Local Basic Sdn Bhd, Gelang Patah – Malaysia

• Led the resolution of non-conformance, coordinated with production and QC department in executing process improvement activities through implementation of 8D and cause & effect analysis methodology, thereby maintaining overall production yield over 95%.
• Monitored the chemical bath and paint content formulation, and assigned schedules for the renewal and replenishment of chemicals and paint. Manage the laboratory and trained lab operators in performing relevant analysis.
• Initiated research and development process focused on extending lifespan, and effectiveness of chemical bath, resulting in increasing effective capacity of pretreatment chemical bath by 20%. Monitor and define the optimal parameters for quality process control referring to daily non-conformance data reports.
• Handling procurement and stock control of chemical consumption, maintained 5S standard for chemical storage area.

Project Involved: 

1. Setup and initialization of new production line (water-borne electrocoating process)

• Lead in trial run before commencing mass production officially. Preparing PFMEA, work instruction and process control plan of new process. Standardized the procedure of periodic and preventative maintenance.

1. Economical analysis toward operation of new production line

• Supported production manager in analyzing the economic viability of new factory, which generates an average monthly revenue of RM800k. Specifically assisted in evaluating the gross profit margin and Cost of Product for each product model respectively.

Chemist (Anodizing) (September 2020 to December 2021)

LocalBasic Sdn Bhd, Gelang Patah - Malaysia

• Provide technical support to production and QC department in troubleshooting non-conformances.
• Defined the colour formulation and replenishment ratio for more than 10 types of color codes, while ensuring that the colour appearance meets the approval standard and satisfaction of customers.
• Perform properties analysis on coated surface such as weight loss test, salt spray test, water break test and etc.
• Review PFMEA, process control plan of new product before mass production.
• Sampling analysis in treated wastewater effluent using photometer, ensuring heavy metal content, total alkalinity, Turbidity, DO, COD, BOD level and etc. under acceptable range and fulfilling compliance of Department of Environment.

   Thesis project: Removal of Nickel Ion using THTDP Ionic Liquid with the implementation of Liquid-liquid Extraction Method

• Discovering the effectiveness of ionic liquid in removing nickel heavy metal content through verification of ICP-OES instruments and determining the upcoming challenge to overcome in commercializing the application of ionic liquid in wastewater treatment industry. 

    Plant Design Team Project: Production of Phenol

• Our team of 5 members worked on a Plant Design Project that applied our knowledge and skills in various aspects of chemical engineering. The project involved several stages, including conducting feasibility studies, identifying the most efficient and cost-effective reaction pathway, designing the process pathway using optimal sizing and equipment selection, creating P&IDs, performing HAZOP studies, and evaluating the profitable model of plant operation.
