About MUHAMMAD FARHAN AHMAD:
As a recent graduate in Materials Science from the National University of Malaysia, I have developed a strong foundation in corrosion analysis and prevention. My experience as a Corrosion Field Engineer at Mach3 Engineering and as an NDT Intern at ITS Inspection Technical Solution has allowed me to apply my knowledge in real-world settings and enhance my technical skills. I have also demonstrated leadership experience through my involvement in various student organizations, including serving as Vice-President of the Student Association of Faculty Science and Technology and the Materials Science Club. My strong communication and problem-solving abilities, combined with my passion for corrosions, inspections, materials science and engineering, make me a valuable asset to any team.
Experience
As a Corrosion Field Engineer at Mach3 Engineering, I have been responsible for maintaining technical equipment and conducting cathodic protection field surveys and related installation works, including preparing project documentation and technical reports based on relevant international codes and standards. Some of the projects I have worked on include the CP rectification works for the Petron Malaysia Refinery & Marketing in Port Dickson and the EPCC of the Hartalega New Generation Complex 1 Sepang Pipeline and Metering Project for Petronas Gas Berhad.
I am also have experience as a NDT Inspector Trainee at ITS Inspection Technical Solution, where I assist Inspection Engineers and NDT Inspectors with various non-destructive testing methods, including visual inspection, magnetic particle inspection, dye penetration testing, ultrasonic testing, metallography replica testing, and hardness testing. Some of the projects I have worked on in this role include inspections of boiler units at Kapar Energy Ventures and Tanjung Bin Energy power plants, as well as preparing material take-offs, overall project schedules, inspection test plans, and project document lists for TNB Power Generation at the Sultan Abu Bakar Dam in Cameron Highlands.
Education
I received a Bachelor of Science in Materials Science from the National University of Malaysia (UKM) in August 2022. During my time at UKM, I was involved in a number of organizations and received several awards, including the Dean's List Award and the Best Presentation Award at the CORSYM2021 conference. My final year research project focused on the electrochemical studies of date palm seed as a green corrosion inhibitor for carbon steel in 0.5M H2SO4 conditions.
I also held several leadership positions while at UKM, including Vice-President of the Student Association of Faculty Science and Technology (PMFST) and Vice-President of the Materials Science Club. In these roles, I administered and coordinated the activities of various committees and successfully organized a number of events and programs, including sports events, career events, and team building programs. I also received the Best Presentation Award for my work as the Head Director for the KARISMA'20 Sport Event.
