Prof. T. Joseph Sahaya Anand

Brief Summary
Currently I am working as a Professor in Materials Science / Engineering in the Faculty of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka on contract basis since December 2008. Graduated from St. Joseph's College, Bharathidasan University, INDIA for my BSc., MSc and MPhil in Physics and completed the doctoral degree in Materials Engineering from the University of Hong Kong in 2004. After spending a year as Post-doctoral researcher from the Tohoku University, Sendai JAPAN started my full-time academic career in Malaysia in 2005. Joined as a Senior Lecturer first in AIMST University, Kedah and then moved to UTeM as an Associated Professor and promoted to full professor in 2018. My focussed research areas are

1. Transition metal chalcogenide thin films for PEC Solar cells (GREEN TECHNOLOGY). 
2. Intermetallic aluminides for thermistor/semiconductor applications (MOBILE TECHNOLOGY). 
3. 3D atom probe analysis of Bulk metallic glasses (SMART MATERIALS). 
4. Alternative automotive body materials including Tyre pressure inflation (SMART VEHICLE). 
5. Biodegradable polymers for Tissue Engineering (BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING). 

   Published about 80 Journal articles and 60 conference proceedings. Received 9 International / National awards and about 15 students completed their Master / PhD degrees under my supervision. Also supervised about 45 students for their Engineering degree.
