Roseline Yap

ROSELINE YAP is currently the Managing Editor for Malaysian Journal of Nutrition. She was previously a Senior Lecturer for School of Biosciences at Taylor’s University, Malaysia and has worked as an academic for 13 years. She received her Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and Master of Science in Nutrition and Food Science from University of Kentucky, USA. She further obtained her doctoral degree in Nutrition from University of Nagasaki, Japan. 

Dr Yap’s research interests are directed toward public health nutrition and nutritional epidemiology with the emphasis on dietary patterns, food consumption and incorporation of nutrigenetics in diet-related chronic diseases. She has received various international academic honours and awards and has publications as conference proceedings, peer-reviewed papers in major nutrition-related journals including book chapters.

Roseline has been in the Council of Nutrition Society of Malaysia (NSM) since 2012 and currently is the Honorary Treasurer. She also in the committee for several community projects representing NSM such as Nutrition Month Malaysia, Positive Parenting and Maternal and Infant Care (Mi-CARE) programme and currently lead the nutrition promotion programme, NSM Roadshows 2.0. Roseline is also one of the expert committee in nutrition-related materials and recipe books and has frequent publications in Positive Parenting magazine and The Star newspaper.  She has also appeared as a guest nutritionist on the topic of ‘Whole Grains’ in broadcast television networks in Malaysia (TV2, NTV7, 8TV) including the radio station (BFM 89.9).

Roseline enjoys various sports in her free time such as running, hiking, cycling besides practising yoga. Her other hobbies include art and colouring projects.
