Sin Hui Liew

As a motivated and enthusiastic Chemical Engineering student, I strive to use my solid academic background and practical experience to create a diversified skill set in the industry. My past internships strengthened my communication, leadership, teamwork, and project and time management skills. As a multidisciplinary professional, I am passionate about energy engineering and are interested in contributing to the transition to a more sustainable future in the energy sector. With a 2:1 degree expected upon graduation in July 2023, I am eager to secure a hands-on opportunity with an industry-leading organisation that shares my values and aspirations.

As an Engineering Intern at Pentas Flora Sdn Bhd in Banting, Malaysia, from April 2021 to July 2021, I provided valuable support in reviewing production activities and process flows to ensure the smooth daily operations of the company. Additionally, I played a key role in establishing, implementing, monitoring, and reviewing lean operations practices, aiming to enhance productivity and promote continuous improvement in my assigned capacity.

During my internship, I independently learned and acquired advanced proficiency in MS Excel, particularly focusing on mastering key features such as pivot tables and VLOOKUP. This expertise significantly increased overall efficiency in data analysis and presentation, enabling me to present information in a visually appealing manner.

I pursued my education in Chemical Engineering, starting with a Bachelor's degree at Taylor's University in Subang Jaya, Malaysia, from January 2019 to January 2021. During this time, I completed two years of degree studies and achieved a commendable CGPA of 3.76. My academic performance earned me the honor of being included in the Dean's List for superior achievements in the 2019-2020 academic year.

Building on my foundation, I furthered my education by pursuing a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Birmingham in Birmingham, United Kingdom, from September 2021 to July 2023. As part of my studies, I successfully completed a design project focused on the gelatine production process, which received a first-class distinction. Currently, I am working on a research project, scheduled for completion in June 2023, which involves the formation of carbon dioxide hydrate for cold thermal energy storage.

My education has equipped me with a strong theoretical understanding of chemical engineering principles and provided hands-on experience in project design and research.
