About Tara Wallace:
I am writing to express an interest for the position of Appointment Setter. My previous role as a Senior Service Manager required a huge amount of administration work and co-ordination and creative problem solving. I managed several teams which meant multitasking constantly throughout the day. Our weekly, monthly and quarterly statistical reports had to be collated and submitted on time to all of our stakeholders. The nature of my previous roles has meant continuously adapting and problem solving. We had regular meetings where I would have to formulate an agenda, undertake minutes, distribute accordingly and then follow up on actions. Working from home during covid meant we had to set up alot of new systems and work independently whilst maintaining a personal relationship with all staff and external agencies.
I am keen to find routine and purpose again after leaving the UK to travel in 2022. It was a tough decision as I loved my job. I am keen to settle in a new role and I can be flexible with working hours where needed.
Experience
During my 8 years of working at PATH, I managed 27 members of staff across 5 services (rough sleepers team, multi-agency rough sleepers team, refugee services, Resettlement and the Housing First Scheme). Some of my regular tasks included:
-Negotiating leases and overseeing purchases of property to house our service users
-Creating, presenting and disseminating monthly, quarterly and annual reports for the CEO, trustees and funders using Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint and our internal case management information system
-Fundraising for the charity by organising and co-ordinating a yearly event, co-ordinating with local businesses including setting up a weekly quiz night and the local council for wider income sources.
-Writing and submitting funding bids to local and central government,
-Regular one-to-one supervisions with my staff
-Using diary management and work scheduling to organise and chair multi-agency meetings with key stakeholders
-Writing and reporting safeguarding concerns to the local council and presenting cases regularly at the regular meetings.
-Sending referrals for the service users into other relevant agencies
-Handling any complaints within my services
-Initiating and leading on new projects within the charity including homeless awareness training which became mandatory for any new worker who joined any related organisation within the city.
-Regular customer facing work including checking on rough sleepers, visiting service users that had been housed within the homes we had purchased and holding meetings with new service users to assess suitability
- Solely allocating and overseeing the spending of RSI service user prevention funds – up to £60K per quarter.
-Managing Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP) when temperatures dropped putting lives at risk. This required creative thinking on the spot to ensure lives were protected.
-Co-ordinate and chair the partnership with the Refugee Integration service (RIS) as Path were the contract holder including reports, meetings, funding and supporting staff members.
-Advocating on behalf of service users and staff.
