Yasmin Alya

Hi, My name is Wan Yasmin but you can just call me Yasmin. I’m 22 years old and have just recently graduated from Victoria University with a Bachelor of Business majoring in Accounting and minoring in Banking and Finance. I am currently studying MICPA part time. While there, I have learned a lot of theory in subjects like Management Accounting and Auditing. I’ve worked hard in my education and I am now ready to apply my knowledge in practice. While i dont have any real-life work experience in the corporate world, I’ve had exposure to the business environment as during my university days, we had to take a subject called Applied Business Challenge where we were required to open a business from naming the company to finding ways to market the product and handle the financials. Now, i’m looking to leverage everything i’ve learned in uni and get some hands-on-work experience

During my university days, I joined a club named AIESEC where I was in the Global Entrepreneur department where I and to contact startup companies in Malaysia asking if they were interested in providing a learning opportunity for the youth from around the world. I would then screen the candidates that fulfilled the company's requirements and arrange meetings with both the company and the candidates. Then, when their application is successful, I would help the students arrange accommodation and visa process as well as making sure that their entire stay is pleasant.
