- Greeting customers, assessing their needs, and providing assistance throughout their service visit.
- Advising customers on necessary maintenance or repairs based on their vehicles condition, manufacturer recommendations, and service history.
- Coordinating service appointments to ensure efficient use of the service departments resources and timely completion of work.
- Creating and maintaining accurate service records, including detailing the services performed, parts used, and any warranties or guarantees applicable.
- Recommending additional services, such as preventive maintenance packages, accessory installations, or upgrades, based on the customers vehicle and driving habits.
- Addressing customer concerns or complaints promptly and professionally, and working with the service team to resolve issues to the customers satisfaction.
- Liaising between the customer and service technicians to ensure clear communication of vehicle issues and necessary repairs.
- Contacting customers after service to ensure satisfaction, address any further questions or concerns, and schedule future maintenance appointments.
- Collaborating with the sales department to promote service offerings and generate additional revenue through service contracts, extended warranties, or other aftermarket products.
- Adhering to company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards in all interactions with customers and handling of sensitive information.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required. Bachelor Degree in automotive technology, business administration, or customer service is an advantage.
- A strong understanding of automotive systems, components, and maintenance requirements is essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are crucial for effectively interacting with customers, understanding their needs, and providing solutions.
- Service advisors often need to upsell maintenance services, repairs, and aftermarket products.
- Familiarity with automotive service software and computerized diagnostic tools can be advantageous for efficiently managing service records, generating estimates, and communicating with technicians.
