    Business Analyst works as the bridge between both business and finance operations, overseeing and providing quality information about business and financial performances for Marine Personnel.

    You are responsible for analyzing the business and financial efficiencies, benchmarking business processes and promoting business processes optimization to achieve better business performance.

    Main Responsibilities And Tasks

    • Liaising with stakeholders to ensure business activities performed are necessary and sufficient.
    • Detailed review of crew payroll reports, Cash to Master reports, Provision and Bonded Stocks reports and business transactions.
    • Perform and liaising with stakeholders to ensure timely submission of Lumpsum Invoices and Out of Lumpsum Invoices
    • Liaising with stakeholders to ensure month end and year end closing are done on time.
    • Detailed review of the monthly financial performance of the vessels and overall business division. This would also include ensuring necessary accruals are recorded by the Corporate Finance Team.
    • Monthly, Quarterly and Yearly Report to Business Controller, Marine HR Supervisor/Manager and Global Head of Marine HR on the financial performance.
    • Working closely with Marine HR Supervisor in the creation of vessel budgets and annual corporate budget.
    • Identifying areas for improvement process to be optimal which also includes update into GIMS system.

    Qualifications

    Mandatory requirements

    • Experience - At least 2 to 3 years Accounting and Finance experience with month end closing.
    • People friendly – Role requires liaising with both Operational Teams and Finance Shared Services.
    • Resilience and ambitious - Resilient and craving for career opportunity out of routine month end preparation.
    • Analytical, problem solving and decision making - Detailed and able to look through both the small window and big picture - review of financial performance, operational KPIs, followed by addressing issues and challenges from key stakeholders.
    • Process improvement – Ability to identify and improve on existing processes and controls.
    • SAP knowledge – Basic familiarity of SAP transaction codes in case need to review supporting documents attached to business/financial transactions.
    • Finance and Accounting degree. Professional accounting degree (ie. ACCA, CPA or etc), it's a plus point.
