    As the Head ofHealth, Safety, and Environment (HSE) for the Malaysia operations, your role is central within the HSE leadership team.Your responsibilities are pivotal in guaranteeing the execution of HSE strategies and initiatives that are in harmony with the company's worldwide standards and principles. Your leadership plays a key role in nurturing a culture of safety and environmental responsibility within the organization.

    Your primary mission is tooversee and implement HSE strategies and initiatives aligned with the company's global standards. Your position holds significant importance in ensuring regulatory compliance, minimizing incidents, and cultivating a culture that prioritizes safety and environmental consciousness.

    You will be reporting directly to theCountry President;dotted reporting line to the Regional VP ofHSE.

    Key responsibilities:

    • HSE Strategy Implementation: Lead the implementation of the Health, Safety, and Environment Management System in the Malaysia region.
    • Strategic Development: Develop and execute an HSE strategy tailored to the unique needs of the Malaysia region.
    • Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor HSE performance at both site and country levels.
    • Compliance Assurance: Ensure that all sites and OHSE improvement plans align with company's commitment to Zero Harm and environmental care.
    • Incident Investigation: Investigate all significant incidents and injuries, ensuring effective corrective and preventive actions are implemented promptly.
    • Risk Management: Identify and manage major HSE risks effectively to prevent incidents.
    • Team Development: Network, coach, and develop HSE Professionals to enhance the overall safety culture.
    • Training Coordination: Identify and facilitate the provision of required HSE training for all employees.
    • Objective Setting: Collaborate with Line Operations/Management to establish annual HSE Objectives and Targets, and monitor and report on their performance monthly.
    • Standards Compliance: Ensure compliance with company HSE Management System, HSE Management System, Codes of Practice, and relevant industry standards, such as ISO 14001 and ISO
    • Regulatory Compliance: Coordinate, establish, and maintain an HSE Legal Register and Risk Register, working with line management to address identified gaps.
    • Daily Safety Oversight: Conduct daily safety line walks to identify hazards, unsafe practices, and conditions, and ensure they are addressed promptly.
    • Competency Development: Ensure that all employees have the necessary HSE skills and competencies for their roles, including emergency response procedures and drills.
    • Networking: Interact and network with other VP HSE Country leaders across the region.
    • Reporting: Produce monthly HSE reports and submit them to relevant authorities in a timely manner.
    • Health and Wellbeing: Design and implement health and wellbeing programs to foster a positive company culture and enhance employee engagement.
    • Security Oversight: Plan, direct, and coordinate security activities to safeguard company assets, employees, visitors, contractors, and others on company property.

    Requirements:

    • SHO Green Book: Holder registered with DOSH.
    • Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental, Engineering, or Science.
    • Experience: Over 12 years of experience in leading and/or managing HSE in a line or support role in medium to heavy manufacturing, oil & gas, or chemicals industries.
    • Construction Experience: Over 5 years of experience in leading and/or managing HSE in a line or support role in the construction industry.
    • Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of local (Malaysia or Singapore) Occupational Health, Safety and Environment regulations.
    • Skills: Proven skills and experience in Coaching, Training, Development, and HSE administration.
