About Our Client

Our client is a global consulting firm, specialising in Sustainability consulting for multiple industries. They are looking for a Principal Consultant, Biodiversity to be based in Malaysia.

Job Description

As the Principal Consultant, Biodiversity, you will lead projects, provide strategic guidance, and contribute to the development of nature-based solutions that align with our clients' sustainability goals.

• Lead and manage nature-based consulting projects from inception to completion, ensuring high-quality deliverables and client satisfaction.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate nature-based solutions into various business operations.
• Help develop proposals for clients, including methodological approach and description of tasks, budgets and team structures.
• Client Engagement:
  • Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication, understanding of client needs, and delivery of impactful solutions.
  • Conduct client consultations to identify opportunities for integrating nature-based strategies into their business models.
• Strategic Planning:
  • Provide strategic guidance to clients on nature-based solutions, considering the environmental, social, and economic implications.
  • Develop and implement sustainable business strategies that align with clients' overall objectives.
• Subject Matter Expert:
  • Act as a Senior Subject Matter Expert on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services assessments, Nature Positive Strategies and Biodiversity Action Plans for consultancy projects for corporate and public sector clients across a variety of economic sectors. Provide technical guidance and leadership to the project teams across the region, in ensuring quality of the deliverables.
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends and research in nature-based solutions, sustainability, and environmental conservation.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative approaches and solutions to address clients' sustainability challenges.

The Successful Applicant

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, sustainability, engineering, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
• Proven commercial and client success and has experience providing consultancy services for Biodiversity projects.
• Working knowledge of the contemporary environmental, social, ecology and sustainability issues that Top 500 companies face.
• Experience in team management and project leadership.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of relevant environmental regulations in Asia and industry standards..
• Willingness to travel as required.
