WorldFish, an international non-profit research and innovation organization, aims to reduce hunger, malnutrition, and poverty in Africa, Asia, and the Pacific through sustainable fisheries and aquaculture.

As a key partner in the One CGIAR network, WorldFish actively supports transformative changes in food, land, and water systems, with a focus on addressing climate change challenges.

We are currently seeking interests for the WorldFish Board of Trustees, a vital role in shaping our organization and ensuring its success.

We are looking for qualified individuals to join our governance team, contribute their expertise, and make a meaningful impact on improving livelihoods and food security.


WHAT WE ARE SEEKING


WorldFish is seeking to appoint up to
two (02) WorldFish Trustees for an initial term of up to three years.

The preferred commencement for the selected appointees is June or July 2024.

Requirements:

1.


Financial Acumen and Industry Experience:


  • Solid financial acumen and comprehensive understanding of financial management principles.
  • Background in international development, sustainable fisheries, aquaculture, natural resources, research, policymaking, social science, economics, value chain management, or related fields.

Previous Board Experience:


  • Experience on reputable global organization boards or committees.
  • Ability to provide valuable insights and contribute to strategic decisionmaking.
3.


Professional Qualifications:


  • Relevant professional qualifications in business administration, compliance, auditing, accounting, or finance.
  • Qualifications in sustainable fisheries, aquaculture, and production; and/or environmental sustainability, climate change, and policy.
  • Continuous professional development in related field.
4.


Governance, Risk, Ethics, and Legal Compliance Experience:


  • Proficiency in governance, risk management, ethics, legal, and compliance matters.
  • Strong understanding of the regulatory landscape and adherence to ethical standards.
5.


Digital and Data Experience:


  • Proficiency in relevant digital technologies and data systems.
  • Familiarity with data analysis, management, and utilization for informed decisionmaking.
  • Understanding of emerging technologies in fisheries, aquaculture, and related sectors.
6.


Experience, Expertise, and Network:


  • Minimum of 10 years of professional expertise in a relevant field including, but not limited to, Aquatic Food Resources, Aquatic and Marine Resource Management; Climate Resilience and Environment, Aquatic Food Systems Science, Strategic Business Investments and Innovation, International Development, Nutrition and Food Security, and Sustainable Finance.
  • Track record of achievements and contributions to the public or private sector, NGOs, or academia, leading to opportunities to tap one's network.
  • Innovative and forwardthinking and ready to take on an empowering culture of success.
