    Description

    The role of an Equipment Project Engineer typically involves designing, developing, and overseeing the installation of variety of machinery used at VAT MY. This may include machinery, tools, and systems necessary for manufacturing processes.

    The Equipment Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the machinery is functional, efficient and meets the required specification. They will also be involved in project planning, cost estimation, risk assessment and, coordinating with internal stakeholders and suppliers.

    Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Develop processes for new launching products, and set up machine, equipment, tooling, jigs, fixtures, and facilities before conducting machinery acceptance release for mass production.
  • Provide technical expertise on equipment selection, technology strategy & roadmap, technical design specification, installation troubleshooting, ensuring optimal performance, efficiency, and safety.
  • Create project proposal & planning, including timelines, progress reports, milestone, and budgets for management review.
  • Overseeing the entire equipment projects, coordinating with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure timely execution, resource management, and adherence to projects goals.
  • Process, Machinery-MAE & Manufacturing Tooling-EWAK development for new platform product or modifications to existing equipment, including investment analysis, workstation design, production line & operator flow design, ensuring it meets the required specification and performance criteria.
  • Work in close collaboration with process & maintenance engineering and suppliers to identify and implement improvement plans to custom automation solutions that will improve reliability, efficiency, or production yields at production floor.
  • Ensure line and process readiness for newly installed MAE / production lines in terms of risk assessment and development of work and inspection standards
  • Responsible for conducting short-term machine and process capability evaluations on new launching products / processes and setting up standards for long-term process capability assurance (SPC, sampling checks, TPM).
  • Collaborate with Technology Centre global team to develop system integration automation projects and tech transfer which includes site to site transfer.
  • Implementing quality control measures, testing equipment functionality, conducting inspections, and addressing any issues or non-conformities.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, safety guidelines in the design, installation, and operation of equipment.
  • Minimum Qualification :

  • Minimum Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical / Mechatronic Engineering )
  • Minimum 5 years working experience in milling machining operation, automation integration project coordination, installation & machine validation activities.
  • Ability to prepare engineering technical specification and progress reporting.
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Fluent in English
  • Preferred Qualification :

  • In depth knowledge in milling machining, vacuum technology, helium tester, robotics & automation technology will be an advantage.
