    Description
    For our Global Business Services (GBS) set-up in Bühler Malaysia, we are recruiting for a: Accountant, R2R supporting the Japan legal entity. This role reports to the Team Manager, GBS-SEA.

    Knowledge in the Japanese language is not required for this role.

    Tasks

    • Country Assigned: Japan
    • Performs the delivery of operational Record-to-Report (R2R) services in accordance with the defined service delivery agreement for the Japan legal entity by working closely with the P2P and O2C team and the local legal entity Controller.
    • Responsible for asset accounting and general ledger accounting.
    • Responsible for period-end closing activities, including preparation of balance sheet schedule and reconciliation.
    • Review staff claims and inter-company 3rd party payment run prepared by the P2P team.
    • Prepares tax reports, government surveys, grant reports as and when required.
    • Prepares and support with external audit.
    • Supports transfer of activities from legal entities into the Global Business Services (GBS).
    • Ensure that process documentation are updated.
    • Support onboarding of new employees.

    Required Qualifications

    • Degree in Accounting/ACCA.
    • At least 5 years of experience as a Accountant handling full sets of accounts.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
    • Strong IFRS knowledge.
    • Proficient in use of SAP FI system for journal entry and month-end cockpit.
    • Knowledge of Japanese tax is a plus.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Fluent in English written and oral, one further Asian language desirable.
    • Ability to work independently and as a team across divisions and subsidiaries.
    • Ability to prioritize incoming tasks, keep deadlines and manage pressure in a fast paced and challenging environment.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills.
    • High degree of discretion when dealing with confidential information.
    • Pro-active, flexible, adaptable and a fast learner.
