- Conduct chemical and physical testing for quality control, new rubber formulation and research.
- Record all results, testing conditions and observations accurately and file hard copies in an organize manner along with electronic copies.
- Provide feedback to the relevant parties regards to quality of rubber compounds.
- Set up laboratory equipment ans instrument for tests, research or process control.
- Conduct lab experimentation and product development as described by supervisor.
- Performing chemical and/or physical testing on routine and non-routine product samples.
- Recording, gathering and presenting data to Supervisor in a timely and organized manner.
- Prepare reports based on test results.
- Interpret results and submitting the initial results to the superior for further analysis.
- Learn raw material function(s) in product formulations.
- Procuring up to-date knowledge on technical developments on rubber technology
- Maintain laboratory equipment. Work station and all areas utilized by the lab,
- Inspect, maintain and ensure the calibration of various laboratory testing equipment and analytical instruments as required ensuring efficient operations.
- Develop work instructions, process safety reviews and follow appropriate lab safety protocols.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all applicable SOPs and work instructions.
- Support the facilities ISO 9001.
- Perform other duties as required or directed as necessary for achieving overall company goals
- Diploma/STPM/SPM qualification
- Additional certificates in rubber testing by RRIM or recognized rubber institution preferred
- 3 to 5 year' experience in a manufacturing company preferably rubber industry.
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong Leadership, Teamwork, and excellent communication skills.
- Excellent organization and reporting skills.
- Previous experience in working in an ISO 9001 accredited company.
