- Supervise functional financial accounting activities including reviewing journal entries and reporting
- Responsible for the timely and accurate monthly close processes and day-to-day operations for global entities in accordance with US GAAP while ensuring accurate maintenance of statutory financials
- Ensure effective internal controls are in place and compliance with GAAP and applicable international and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting
- Ensure SOX compliance by adhering to internal control requirements, maintaining updated documentation, and providing recommendations, as appropriate
- Identify and highlight any risks/fraud and mitigate with proper controls and solutions
- Lead and drive process improvement, automation, and standardization and other assigned projects/tasks
- Proactively engage with partners to resolve challenges and recommend solutions, improvement where necessary
- Coach and mentor team members
- Establish and maintain cooperative and productive work relationships
- Establish plans and objectives for the functional group and at organization level for Global Finance Center of Excellence
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS and local country accounting standards
- Strong team-player with experience working in a dynamic organization and demonstrated ability to build bridges between stakeholders
- Strong communication, influencing skills including ability to step up in challenging status quo when necessary
- Strong analytical skills with deep understanding of business principles and practices
- Ability to manage change sensitively and in a collaborative manner
- Ability to attract, develop and retain outstanding talent
- Proven track record of team development, process efficiency, quality improvement and innovating finance workloads
- Ability to succinctly explain financial matters to non-finance personnel
- Demonstrate and maintain a positive customer service focus to both internal & external customers, including Audit/Statutory engagement
- Demonstrate agility and flexibility to maneuver ad hoc tasks, projects and challenges
- Japanese or other foreign language skill set will be added advantage
- Qualified accountant (CA, ACA, ACCA or CIMA), Degree in Finance/Accounting
- > 10 years of experience in Finance, Accounting and Reporting; high-tech industry
- > 5 years in leadership role
- Experience in automation projects, LEAN, 6-Sigma or RPA, preferred
